I've never been a massive fan of the Gears Of War franchise. The whole idea of just war continuously being at war and fighting through just repeatedly. It's great if you have a friend with you, and that is what this game needs. The game has some depth of detail on the characters and even gives you Gears Of War 4 back story at the introduction. But it doesn't give you the full details. There is depth to the characters though, and you have a whole new one to upgrade this time. His name is Dave, and you can upgrade him to do things like restore health or push enemies out of cover. You can even play as the robot if you play two-player. There is also a new action, stab and you can now pick up things from afar using Dave. Apart from that, it's all the controls you used to know.

I really liked the openness of Gears Of War 4, felt like I could explore the world. Gears Of Wars 5 however, makes you feel cramped and dark. Which is a shame because this one is in UHD. Like that matters to anyone.
The game just didn't get me excited enough. I didn't feel that rush on competing for a mission or achievement from finding where to make Dave go. The new little things just don't feel worth the £45 price tag and the game isn't that great with the storyline.

If you're looking to buy this game for PC or Xbox, then the link is below.

Vampire: The Masquerade. If you know anything about vampire games, then this will have likely been one game you’ve played. It’s an old game that brought out by Troika Games back in 2004. The game had a lot of problems, but the fans loved it, so much that they started to fix the game. The gaming company went bust after release and never could afford to patch the game.

Well, the game is back, well sort of. It’s been heavily ripped off. They’re calling it a sequel, but it more or less the exact first one. If you loved the game before, I’m sure this is happy news to you. From what I’ve seen so far, it seems Hardsuit Labs have kept the basics of the original game. That is the three main interactions - social, combat, and helping you explore the game.
If you’re from the old game, here’s what looks like has changed. Clans: were six are now more like four — no signs of the Sabbat clan. The places have changed, such as the Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown LA and China Town have been axed. You're now in Seattle in at least the first 3 hours. Apart from that, it looks like a redo of the original game.

In the new version, you start out as a Thin Blood and have to be accepted into a clan. So no more beefed Tremere superpowers at the beginning. Although a Tremere will still be your boss; If you so choose. You’ll be able to pick one superpower at the start of the game. Chiropteran: Bat like a superpower that lets you travel and attack people. Mentalism: enables you to move objects and Nebulation: which allows you to become mist and go through vents.

The game is more set on becoming a clan member. Although we haven't seen what else there is in the game. Just like the first game, you must rise in the ranks to become the boss. There's a little more storyline to this game than the previous one and looks like there will be more side missions. That all makes sense considering that this is a newer game.

There's a new blood mechanic, too. In the first game, you lost humanity when you killed someone you had fed on, well now you have to worry about what the host is feeling too. The new game mechanic now takes into consideration whether the person you've just fed on needs something or wants something or is just waiting for the bus, minding their own business.

I'm excited to see what this game holds, yes it's basically a redo of one of my old favourites, but I'm happy to see the past game get new fans. They've even talked of them bringing out a redo of the Redemption, which would be great to see.

You can preorder the game and get bonus content, and for PC there is an early 24 hours release of the game, and you can with the season pass within your preorder.

As a Victorian history buff myself, I love these little 1 hour podcasts. From secrets of the freak shows to murder most foul, this podcast will have something that you didn't know before about your own history. Although after his game show QI, Stephen Fry is not my most trusted of historians. This podcast is mostly snippets from others reading or being interviewed about their specialised subjects. A podcast I thought I would hate I quite enjoyed.

It breaks the very idea that ordinary Victorians that they were all about hard work and 'none to do' with people. Some extracts from the Victorian's are so funny that you'll be on the floor laughing and some will make you red with embarrassment. For example, the fact that two twins got married, or that there is a library of the most significant Victorian porn down the road from you. Want to find out where? Or who? Well, you'll just have to listen for yourself.

If it wasn't for the poverty of the time, it makes you want to go back in time. In a doctor who type of way.

This podcast can be found on Audible for £7.99 a month for free.

In a steam and electric London that is being hounded by a serial killer where T.Aaron Payton brings clockwork prostitutes and cruel diseases that change the sex of the infected. This book is not only funny but gripping.

If you haven't read steampunk before this might be one you want to start with.

This book has some raving reviews, and it's for a good reason, you need not be an into the genre to be into The Constantine Affliction. It's one of those gems that have a little of everything, comedy, murder and even touching on transgender rights. Everything has a story and a reason. I find it hard to pin down my favourite, but it has to be Freddy by far. She jumps off the page and into your heart with her sour comedy and quick wit. I didn't connect with the journalist E.Skye, I usually love the bold female characters, but she just felt unestablished compared to Pimm and Freddy.

Payton's describes this dangerous world where fires rage for lifetimes and mad scientists bring the dead to life in such detail. You can envision the world that he wants you to.

It has 4 out of 5 stars on most sites and that what I would agree with. It's a poor excuse for a steampunk but that what makes it so good for first-timers and just about anyone that likes a book that takes a walk on the wild side.

Audiobook
You'll find this audiobook on Amazon and iTunes (although how an Audible only book got on iTunes is a wonder). I liked John Lee's voice. Not only is his view very commanding and stable, but he also brings the characters to life. It's one of Audible' better exclusives.

"Borderlands 3!" yell that in a crowd and you may get trapped in a frenzy of excited gamers. There is a good reason too. 2K has always blessed the gaming community with Borderlands, and I say blessed because the games are immensely popular. If you haven't heard of them, then let me give you the lowdown.

We had Borderlands one where you had to travel a distant planet - Pandora, to hunt down an alien vault.

Then you had borderlands 2 which you had to travel a distant planet - Pandora, to hunt down an alien vault.

And now you have the third one, where you have to travel Pandora and hunt down an alien vault. Sound good? Good, then let's continue.

The game brings the same old game mechanics that you loved from the borderlands series, but this time there feels more need to hide behind objects then just walking up to an enemy and shotgunning them in the face (good old times they were), which is good! It's a shooter game, so that was always expected.

2K has still kept their humour and the game even when in situations that are nowhere close to real life, it still makes you laugh out loud. Which is one thing I know I'll miss when I'm finished playing, and the new characters just add to that fun. The new heroes of the story are Amara, FL4K, Zane Flynt and Moze. They (like all borderlands) have their own backgrounds and their own skill trees.

And you have the non-playable, the Antagonists. No longer will you be battling it out against handsome jack (sorry girls). The new ones are Tyreen and Troy, the Calypso Twins.

There are so many makes of the game that I will only put three below.

Hello dear readers,
Today I've decided to add a personal page to my blog. Just a little more about me and personalised touch to the many things going on in my life. There might be tips on how to write a CV or mental health blog about hearing voices and how to cope. Whatever it is it'll be under the personal tab on the page. I hope this will help a lot of people and help them understand mental health and also help them out in other ways.

CD Projekt, the company behind the game Cyberpunk, has said in an interview that the player will create gender natural or transgender characters. Included in the Metro article, they noted that you will also be able to gay relationships. This all sounds very promising for CD Projekt as they have had some criticism over their other games such as The Witcher series.

Cyberpunk is also getting multiplayer, but this will come after launch.

Not only can the world around you adapt around you, but the characters relationships with you can go different ways depending on your interactions.

Formats: Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC

My View:
I like the idea behind this game, and it makes so much sense to prolong the release date to make a better version of it. One thing I know for sure is this will be a Witcher 3 level of sales or maybe more now that they plan to include multiplayer. I don't think I'll be playing the multiplayer though. I've never played with others, and when games have multiplayer, they lose their storyline (not always the case). With a release date, next April lets hope that they live up to their expectations that we all have.

Anthony Horowitz is known for his murder mysteries from the beloved detective Sherlock Holmes, but this Atticus Pünd book will take you on a ride you never will forget. When Editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway’s latest novel, it is to be his final novel of the series. But killing off Atticus Pünd might be more of a debacle than Alan Conway ever counted on.

This best-seller will have you whipped off your seat with these twists and turns. An old styled murder mystery that has not one but two murders. I never saw the twists coming, and that made this book so enjoyable. If it weren't already on the bestsellers list, it would be a find like no other.

My View:
I love this book, and I think it will always have a place in my heart. As one of those lovers of old-fashioned books, I have to admit that this will be hard to beat. The only thing I would say and I feel this is because the setting there weren't any exciting characters. I didn't feel drawn to anyone; it was all the mystery and the not a lot of background. Then again, it is written to be his final book, and it gives that impression from the name and the way it is written. He has thought of everything to bring you closer to that experience of an authentic murder mystery series.

Audiobook:
To be honest, I didn't think much of the audiobook's content. I thought Susan was well-voiced, but it's hard because the book is meant to be read and not listened to.
I'd rank this book in my ever favourites if I had to star. It'd be five out of five and four out of five for the audiobook.

Today, I've started a blog about two things I love. Books and Gaming.

A bit about me:
My name is Charlie Alexander Beaumont,
Writing is something I love, gaming is something I love, and reading is something I love; I'm in my element here.
I like to read books about movies that have just come out and see which I like better. Audiobooks and podcasts will probably get a good mention here too.
As for gaming, well I like RPG offline... sorry.
I play most anything, but for me, there is nothing better than an RPG.
